All of Dick’s paintings are done with oils on Belgium Linen. Favorite subjects include wildlife, landscapes, Native Americans and a wide array of subject matter that relates to the outdoors and to early pre 1900’s development and settling of the western frontier. Dick is a unique artist who has spent a lifetime in the wild frontiers of the world. He has lived most of his adult life in Montana where he honed his skills in anatomy, gesture and taxidermy coupled with an extreme knowledge of the outdoors; all of which have resulted in a look and style of artwork that stands out in today’s art world. As a painter, he is known for his strong use of light, action and dynamic compositions.
